Slush Casting
We undertake traditional slush casting for items such as spouts etc.
Aluminium Slush Casting is an almost antiquated process used to form hollow components without the need for a core and generally offers a cheaper method than designing die tools with cores. Historically the process has been used for a whole range of items such as:
- Spouts
- Candlesticks
- Vases
- Bowls
- Lamps
- Statues
- Figurines
- Handles
Today there are very few companies that offer this service even though it is still the only way to make certain items.
The process is also known as hollow casting and was first developed by William Britain in 1893 for the production of lead toy soldiers. Today the principals are the same, and Slush Casting results in a lighter and less expensive product.
If you have a query regarding the use of this process and the services of Brophy castings, please feel free to call us to find out how we can help.
